X-Men: The Trial Of Magneto # 1
The Flash # 773– WOW!! ……Just WOW! it’s such a wonderful thing to see Wally West back as The Scarlett Speedster and this issue proves just great he is in that role. From Wally’s new job as an engineer at Holt Industries to an epic yet emotional showdown with Heat Wave, this issue is perfect in every way and even though I feel like Mark Waid and Geoff Johns are the only writers that can handle Wally, thanks to this issue, he’s in great hands with Jeremy Adams at the helm.
Kang The Conquerer # 1– This is by far an absolutely perfect character study for a classic Avengers villain and i really enjoyed seeing Kang come face to face with his younger self makes for an interesting read and I like how Kang’s backstory was explored here, especially the variants he becomes (Rama-Tut and Immortus); Avengers fans old and new will find something to like about this series and condenses his story enough so that the most hardcore comic book fan won’t have to spend millions of dollars on his early appearances so I highly recommend this series.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual # 1– This annual was very entertaining from beginning to end and a perfect team-up story that sees Miles fighting side by side with Amulet (An ally of Ms. Marvel) due to a series of monsters that are connected to various cursed magical objects. Not only did this annual pack in some action and heart but also brought with it some fun and enthusiasm that really made this annual so special.
Radiant Black # 7– Have you ever read a comic that condensed and packed in so much from the previous arc all into one issue? and to your surprise, it was amazing! That is exactly what happened here in the latest issue of Radiant Black; The various Radiants duking it out all over the world and even in space made this a very solid issue that will make you a fan of this series if you haven’t picked this up already.
X-Men: The Trial Of Magneto # 1– I had such high hopes for this series due to The Scarlet Witch being killed off (Seriously, what’s the deal with Marvel killing off some of their characters for sales and creating a buzz in social media?!) but after reading it?!- Nothing really happened! It felt more like a “Law & Order” episode than an X-Men event. When Chris Claremont and John Romita Jr. did the Trial Of Magneto back in Uncanny X-Men # 200 it was compelling and it was done during the 1980s’, a time when the X-Men was great; But now this story just dragged on without anything important happening. If you want to read the full story, then wait for the trade but for the time being…..stay away from the individual issues and I’m hoping that Marvel will indeed give us an X-Men event we can look forward to instead of disappointing us.
Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
