Amazing Spider-Man: Sins Rising # 1- The Sin-Eater is by far one of the most deathliest Spider-Man villains out there. Ever since he was introduced in the memorable yet dark “Death of Jean DeWolff” storyline from Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #’s 107-110 and while I enjoyed what Peter David’s take on the character, it was Nick Spencer that did a great job of fleshing out Stan Carter’s life story and it gives you a pretty good understanding on who he is when the “Sins Rising” arc kicks off but I felt like the special felt like a comic book version of “Joker” in terms of how dark the story was and I enjoyed how this was one of the best stories that Spencer has done since being the writer of ASM in terms of a fascinating character study and it looks like “Sins Rising” is gearing up to be another soul-shattering arc for ASM which is looking to be good.
Batman # 95- If the last issue shocked you then this issue will make you feel like you’re on a rollercoaster! First off, it is a beautiful thing to see Jorge Jimenez back on art as I feel as his art is very suited for a title such as Batman as his style on this title is very cinematic and less animated which is an awesome thing, and I love the Batman/Punchline showdown so the fact that things are bad all over for both Batman and Bruce Wayne is making “Joker War” an interesting arc that may outshine all of the other Batman/Joker showdowns.
Canto & The Clockwork Fairies # 1- I really enjoyed the first volume of Canto so it was an amazing thrill that this one-shot came out; Right off the bat, I really enjoyed this story as it continues to chronicle Canto’s journey of being a hero and I love what David M. Booher and Drew Zucker are doing with Canto as a whole because it’s very refreshing to read about an underdog with the strength and heart of a hero so for me it’s so cool to see that Booher and Zucker are doing a Steven Spielberg movie and bringing it to life and Canto will capture your heart all while leaving you captivated with his adventures.
Daredevil # 21- It’s really cool that Chip Zdarsky’s run is just AMAZING!! and this issue is living proof that this run is going down as the greatest Daredevil story to date, outdoing the likes of Miller, O’Neil, Bendis, Brubaker, Waid, and Soule just to name a few, plus I also thought it was a magnificent call to have Matt Murdock put back on his Daredevil costume so it’s great to see that this issue is leading up to something bigger and I’m hoping that Zdarsky can outdo himself because Daredevil is back to being one of Marvel’s most talked-about series.
Power Rangers: Ranger Slayer # 1- WOW!!!……….Just………WOW!! this was spectacular to read, from begging to end this is the type of comic that will have you captivated after you finish the first page; I also got a kick out of the Pink Ranger being from an alternate universe which was once ruled by Lord Dakkon and being in a world where she doesn’t recognize, I really like how BOOM Studios is reinvigorating The Power Rangers by bringing in some of the finest creative teams to date. Ryan Parrott and Dan Mora brought their A-Game with this one-shot, bringing in yet another new element to the Power Rangers lore and for fans old and new, all these comics will definitely make them happy as they really are the best Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stories being produced, thanks in part to BOOM who can do no wrong with these timeless characters.
Well, that about does it for me. Thanks for sticking around and I’ll be back next Wednesday. Take care and I’ll see you soon.
