Batman # 149– After suffering through the Zur-En-Arrgh/Failsafe storyline, it’s a relief that this arc is over, but the shining moments within those pages make this issue worthwhile. The big questions regarding Bruce Wayne’s fortune and a new place of operations get satisfying answers that bring back the old status quo with such fanfare that fans will love (They might end up dancing in the streets after they read this issue!) and the one true heartbreak moment comes with Bruce doing everything he can to stop his clone from aging rapidly but it helps him in learning many lessons such as his own being there for his family and while most of these plot threads seem rushed so that Batman can participate in “Absolute Power” it does bring the emotional factor to an all-time high that sets the stage for what’s to come next and at the same time, welcoming back everything that defines Batman.

Destro # 1– The fan-favorite villain of the G.I.Joe world gets his own series that further expands the Energon Universe and with Dan Watters and Andrei Bressan at the helm, readers will have no problem taking James McCullen Destro XXIV seriously as the man behind M.A.R.S. Industries who provides high-tech weapons to world powers for the right price. Watters and Bressan do a great job of fleshing out Destro while showing him as the typical antihero doing whatever he can to gain power such as his use of the robotic BATS while setting the stage for a potential Destro vs Cobra Commander showdown; It is A well-paced and action-packed series that shows the continuing building of a Cobra army, this is a can’t-miss series that shows Destro at his worse.

Ultimate Spider-Man # 6– It’s the conclusion of the first arc. I have to say that Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto stick to the landing with perfection in a way that shows that this title truly is the breakout series of 2024; From Spidey and The Green Goblin’s team-up against The Kingpin to Mary Jane and the rest of the Parker family finding out about Peter’s activities is just another great way of the world-building that Hickman provided throughout these past six issues that comes off as captivating and rewarding to the readers who enjoyed every aspect that Hickman, Checchetto and David Messina brought to the table and the ending is a wonderful way to bring this first arc to a close (**NO SPOILERS**); The next issue should be great as usual but this issue is yet another way of welcoming back the Ultimate Universe with open arms.

Uncle Scrooge And The Infinity Dime # 1– Jason Aaron pens a new Uncle Scrooge story under Marvel’s collaboration with Disney that celebrates him with such tremendous fanfare that makes this a story to remember. When Scrooge McDuck’s money bin gets stolen, he goes on a quest to retrieve it but gets caught up in the Multiverse as we’re introduced by an army of Uncle Scrooge variants not to mention a ton of Donald Duck variants thrown in for good measure (I found this to be a hilarious factor); It looks as if Aaron had a great time writing Scrooge since the latter does not hide the fact that he’s super right, but it’s his love for his family & friends drives him to be a hero to where his adventures are absolutely epic. It’s a fun and lighthearted romp that Disney fans will enjoy, especially since this story is told in the mighty Marvel manner it’s a love letter to one of the most enduring characters to come out of Disney so fans old and new will have a blast reading this one-shot while hoping that someday we might get Uncle Scrooge And The Infinity Dime # 2.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
