Horror publishing company celebrates their 1 year anniversary on Cinco De Mayo

Second Sight Publishing celebrates its one-year anniversary fittingly on “Cinco De Mayo”, which for a comic book company that publishes primarily horror comics, is the perfect anniversary date. CEO Bradley Golden, deciding to do something that had never been done in his home town of Pontotoc, Mississippi, took a small studio created in the basement of his mother’s home, hired Marcus H. Roberts as his COO and Submission Manager, Peter Breau as his Marketing and Promotions Director, and Larry Jarrell as Art Director and Print Manager, formed the first and only comic book publishing company in North Mississippi.

Bradley Golden says it all started with his self-published title, Mississippi Zombie, a horror anthology with stories based in his home state of Mississippi, under the name “Second Sight Studios”, from which the title Chessmasters also originated, which Golden co-wrote with the late Gary McClendon. Second Sight Studios went on to co-publish his first mainstream title, Leave on the Light, with Antarctic Press. Antarctic Press also reprinted his horror title, Cold Blooded in their Horror Comics series. Soon after, Golden decided to make Second Sight Studios a full-fledged publisher by signing an exclusive deal with Caliber Comics to publish their Horror trades, Bradley Golden Presents Mississippi Zombie, and Second Sight Publishing presents Harvest of Horrors.

It was at this point in time Bradley Golden brought in Marcus Roberts to help with the expansion of the company as it branched out from doing just horror titles, but titles covering a range of genres. Once Larry Jarrell and Peter Breau were in place, the group went on to create four imprints under the Second Sight Publishing brand. The imprints are; Secondverse, which is sci-fi and adventure, Freedomverse, which houses the superhero titles, Second Sight Presents, which is horror and a slice of life titles and the recently added all-ages children’s line called Playground.
