Created for comics readers everywhere, further beta testing and community feedback moves the GlobalComix App closer to live date
MAY 24, 2023 (PITTSBURGH, PA) — GlobalComix wishes to thank the comics community for its amazing feedback! Due to the responses in the first round of beta testing for the GlobalComix App, the team is aiming to meet expectations of its potential users and of comics of all types and genres by shifting focus with more improvements and new add-on features to come. Here’s what’s new:
- HOME SCREEN: Introducing dedicated streams on the Home Screen, allowing readers to more easily discover curated stories relevant to their interests. With so many different types of comics available, these streams will allow fans to find exactly what they’re looking for, whether it’s traditional comics, manga, webcomics, or even vertical scroll webtoons.
- READING DIRECTION: GlobalComix wants readers to have a pleasant reading experience and ease of use. Through implementing a reading direction indicator ( left-to-right, right-to-left, or top-to-bottom) within the reading experience to provide context and avoid confusion when attempting to swipe to new pages. Readers can be informed on the direction to swipe to start/continue reading, resulting in a better experience so that content can be enjoyed in the way the creator intended.
- READING FORMATS: Panel-to-panel reading comes to the GlobalComix App! While initially slated for future implementation, the excitement from the community about having this format made it all the greater reason to have it available at launch (as seen in the image above). There will also be dedicated sections in the home screen streams, as well as filters in “Explore” so that stories offering panel-to-panel can easily be found. Now is a great time for creators to set up panel-to-panel experience in their comics admin, so readers can experience this feature from day one.

GlobalComix first opened beta testing opportunities in February 2023, which was met with an exciting and exceptional response! With the help of the community, the team has further developed the GlobalComix App to exceed the expectations of comics readers and user experience, and is currently moving forward with adding even more beta testing applications in aid of completion.
