Fun for the Whole Family ITHACON

ITHACON will have some fun activities for kids of all ages this April

ITHACA, N.Y. (March 30, 2024): Parents coming to ITHACON —looking for something fun for your kids? Well don’t worry, they have so much fun in store! ITHACON will have activities that are kid-friendly and kid-focused this year. The convention will be held at Ithaca College’s Emerson Suites on April 27th and 28th.

Kids can try our button-making activity, where ITHACON crafters will teach how to make and decorate your own pinback buttons. If comics are more their speed, the build-your-own superhero event will allow kids to be creative and become a superhero! For those who know their stuff around comics, there will be a Kahoot trivia game with fun prizes for the top five winners.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to walk in ITHACON’s annual Cosplay Runway on both Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm. At the same time, those who may prefer to opt out from the Runway event have the opportunity to engage with a different side of fan culture. Those kids will have the time to vote on and watch one of three movies. Some movies to vote on include Lego Batman, Megamind, and Nimona. Not only will there be these activities for attendees, but ITHACON has also collaborated with the Graphic Novel Advisory Board to put together some fun activities that are sure to surprise and amaze.

ITHACON will also be hosting a Scooby Doo-themed mystery activity. Children are heavily encouraged to participate in ITHACON’s Poster Coloring Contest, where winners judged by professional colorist Glenn Whitmore can win comic-themed prizes.

“ITHACON is a fantastic event for all ages. Although they are a small portion of our attendees, we love to create special events for kids at our show.”said Ed Catto of Ithaca College’s School of Business.

ITHACON 2023 tickets are now on sale at Ithacon.org. Tickets are $20 for adults, youth memberships (for ages 7 – 17) are $5, and children under 6 can attend for free (when accompanied by an adult).
