No Gimmicks! No, gotches! Here’s your chance to sample some fantastic digital editions from TwoMorrows Publishing. It’s absolutely free! TwoMorrows Publishing is a goldmine for comic book enthusiasts, especially new fans looking to dive deeper into the history and artistry of the medium. TwoMorrowsPublishing specializes in magazines and books that explore comic book history, creators, and pop culture. Their magazines include Alter Ego, Back Issue!, Comic Book Creator, and Jack Kirby Collector. It’s not even all of them!
The first thing to the snag is The TwoMorrows 2025 Catalog, which is a fully interactive, full-color catalog featuring all of TwoMorrows Publishing’s available back issues and books, updated with releases through mid-2026. Now, I’m hoping—like TwoMorrows—that while you’re on their website, you will find a few things to buy. I can almost guarantee that there is something for every type of comic book fan.
There are nearly a dozen things to pick up, and I’m going to highlight a few of them, like Alter Ego 94, their magazine that focuses on Golden and Silver Age comics and their creators. It’s edited by none other than the iconic Roy Thomas. Alter Ego #94 showcases “The Earth-Two Companion, Part II,” delving into the influential 1963-1985 series that played a pivotal role in shaping comic book history. I’ve always been a massive fan of everything Earth-2. You get Michael T. Gilbert’s Mr. Monster’s Comic Crypt offering another in-depth exploration of classic comic book themes, Fawcett Collectors of America (FCA) Section, and to top it all off, the cover artwork is masterfully illustrated by Joe Staton and Dick Giordano.
Admittedly, Back Issue is my favorite TwoMorowspublication, and if it came out every week—it’d be on my pull list. It covers comic books from the Bronze and Beyond. You get to the series for free with issue 41. Every issue is themed, which I think is pretty fantastic. Back Issue #41 honors Independence Day with a “Red, White, and Blue” theme, showcasing some of the most legendary patriotic heroes in comics. Captain America, Freedom Fighters, and Wonder Woman are among the highlights. Like all TwoMorrows publications, use get commentary directly from the creators. For this issue, there areinsights and artwork from John Byrne, Steve Englehart, Roger Stern, Curt Swan, Len Wein, Mike Zeck, and other industry legends.
One of the things I like best about TwoMorrows is if a physical copy of a book or magazine goes out of print. They often still have the digital copies available for purchase. Like Write Now! Edited by Danny Fingeroth, the magazine centered on the art and business of writing for comics, animation, and science fiction, offering valuable insights into storytelling, scripting, and industry standards. Here’s a chance to snag Write Now 20
I’m going to end with where it all began: The Jack Kirby Collector. The debut issue of Jack Kirby Collector came out in September 1994, originally launched as a newsletter by John Morrow to honor Kirby’s legacy. Over time, it evolved into a comprehensive magazine celebrating the King of Comics. You get to check out for FREE issue 84. I’m not even going to tell you what it’s all about! It’s Kirby—and that’s all you need to know!
It isn’t the first time I’ve covered TwoMorrows in a column. A few weeks ago, I covered some of their latest releases. I even did a podcast on TwoMorrows because no one does it better. You now have all the details to access free magazines and explore their extensive collection of books and publications. Now go and buy something!
