Ultimate Fan and VIP package holders at 14 North American FAN EXPO HQ events in 2024 will receive one of 12 cover variants of “Detective Comics #27”
(November 15, 2023): Today, FAN EXPO HQ announced a continued collaboration with DC and superstar artist Francesco Mattina to release 12 variant cover versions of Detective Comics #27 – celebrating the 85th anniversary of Batman with the issue in which he originally made his debut in 1939 – exclusively to FAN EXPO HQ attendees next year.
Ultimate and VIP ticket holders at 14 FAN EXPO HQ events in 2024 will receive one of 12 variant covers by Mattina in their swag bags, beginning at FAN EXPO New Orleans (January 5-7, 2024). The covers range in rarity from Main Editions (1 in 3 chance) to extremely rare Embossed Remarked Artist Editions (1 in 5,000 chance).

The variants will be wrapped as “blind bags”, inspired by the blind bag introduced with DC’s The Death of Superman in 1993. Ticketholders will receive one version each, ranging in rarity:
