Show Spotlighting Illustrator Ed Catto Debuts April 18th
Auburn, N.Y. (April 2, 2019): The Cayuga Museum of History and Art Emerging Artist series continues with this year’s second show, featuring the work of area artist Ed Catto. As an illustrator, Catto embraces the classic pen and ink feel of pulp illustration. The show will be on display from April 18 to May 11, 2019.
Catto is a regular contributor to new pulp thrillers, and in, fact, he was recently nominated in the “Best Interior Artist” category for the annual Pulp Factory Awards.
“I grew up on a steady diet of comic books and reprint pulp adventures, and always seemed to have a pencil in my hand,” said Catto. “It’s a thrill for me to combine my passion of art with a celebration of graphic novels, comics and pulps through illustration.”
Catto, having recently returned to the area, is a business consultant and entrepreneur and has recently joined the faculty of the Ithaca College School of Business.
The reception to the month-long show is scheduled for Thursday, April 18 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Works will be on display, and are also for sale. The Chef4Rent food truck will have light fare available for purchase. Admission is $5 general public, Museum members free. The Cayuga Museum is located at 203 Genesee Street, Auburn.
The presenting sponsor of the CNY Emerging Artist Project is Tompkins Trust Company.
