Beautifully adapted by Clara Meath, The Conqueror Worm explores human mortality and the inevitability of death. The poem first appeared in Graham’s Magazine in 1843 and was later included as part of a collection of poems in the Feburary 25 issue of the Saturday Museum in a feature called “The Poets & Poetry of Philadelphia: Edgar Allan Poe”.
