DON’T FORGET YOUR BRIEFCASE

Coming Soon from Mad Cave Studios: A Darkly Hilarious Nuclear Thriller About Power, Absurdity, and an Accidental International Crisis

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MARCH 26, 2025 (PORTLAND, OR) — This case is going to blow!

Mad Cave Studios is proud to announce DON’T FORGET YOUR BRIEFCASE, a five-issue political farce by best-selling author Eliot Rahal(Knock Em Dead, Midnight Vista) and acclaimed artist Phillip Sevy (Tomb Raider, X-Men Unlimited). Joined by colorist Warnia K. Sahadewa and letterer Frank Cvetkovic, this team is set to deliver a thrilling, darkly comedic take on nuclear warfare and the chaos of global power structures.

Everywhere the President goes, there is a military liaison who follows, carrying a briefcase with the codes to launch a nuclear strike—and it’s just been lost. This is the story about what happens when a ten-year-old boy finds a nuclear football and accidentally brings the world to the brink of annihilation.

“This is the kind of storytelling I want to do. I want to make it special. And I want to work with people I love,” said Eliot Rahal. “And I love Phil. Mad Cave is allowing us to do something off-beat and specific. I couldn’t be more excited!”

Phillip Sevy added: “Eliot is one of my favorite humans alive and one of the most talented writers in comics. When he asks you if you’d be interested in drawing a dark humor thriller about how we feel the need to walk around with the keys to our own destruction at all times, just in case we need to end the world, out of hubris and stupidity, you say ‘Yes!’ and count yourself among the luckiest people in comics.”

Fans of Chew, Something is Killing the Children, and Danger Street will find themselves right at home in this wild, maximalist ride through political satire and farcical misadventure. Packed with satire, action, and laugh-out-loud moments, Don’t Forget Your Briefcase is a story of control, destruction, and what happens when power falls into the wrong hands—literally.

Don’t Forget Your Briefcase #1 launches on June 25th, with Cover A by Phillip Sevy and Cover B by Marguerite Sauvage. Preorder now at your local comic shop or online.
