Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is a French CGI animated series which is premiered across the globe. It is co-production with notable varieties of animated series like SAMG, SK Broadband, Disney Channel EMEA, Toei, ZAG, PGS Entertainment, and AB International. It was formerly aired on Nickelodeon in the USA but currently, Netflix holds all the airing rights of the series and online streaming.
Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir was first aired in South Korea in late 2015 on EBS1. Before it was removed from the network’s schedule in 2016, the series was being aired on Nickelodeon in late 2015.
Season 1 of the series has 26 episodes with each episode running for half an hour. The web series has 10 episodes and there is extra web-exclusive content that is released later. You can watch miraculous ladybug season 3, which is being worked on and can be out earlier than expected. There is a possibility of releasing the fourth and fifth series as well.
The series Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir features two high school children who are supposed to save Paris from evil. Marinette and Adrien have a mission of capturing creatures that are responsible for changing ordinary people into super-baddies. These creatures are known as akumas. As the series proceeds, Marinette is transformed into Ladybug whereas Adrien changes into Cat Noir. They use magical jeweled objects known as the Miraculous.
In due process, Hawk Moth, another character in the series attempts to steal their powers using akuma, which are butterflies infused with negative energy. Ladybug and Cat Noir fight the Akuma supervillains Hawk Moth in season 1 of the series. Towards the end, we see Marinette meeting Master Fu who is the Guardian to the Miraculous. In season 2, the Hawk Moth’s identity is revealed as Gabriel Agreste.
Also, we see Marinette being taught by tutelage about the Miraculous. As the series goes on, Marinette is forced to aid friends and allies with Miraculous so that they can help in fighting supervillains. During the fight, Hawk Moth escapes assisted with Peacock Miraculous holder but the heroes emerge winners.
Season three sees Hawk Moth proceeding with his campaign under the assistance of Mayura and sentimonsters. Sentimonsters are creatures from charged feathers, amoks. On the other hand, Marinette has more allies as miraculous heroes. Lila, not knowing his identity as Hawk Moth, cooperates with Gabriel. Due to damaged miraculous and Ladybug’s unwilling to give Chloe the Bee miraculous makes her link up with Hawk Moth and leave Ladybug.
The two characters in this series don’t know each other’s true identity. Marinette/Ladybug doesn’t know that Adrien is Cat Noir and at the same time, Adrien is unaware that Marinette is actually Ladybug. They know about each other because they go to the same school, are in the same class and are generally good friends. Besides, we see Alya has frequent interaction with Ladybug.
Initially, the series was produced with the intention of reaching out to older audiences which include teens and young adults. It was however worked out by the crew to suit the younger audience. Fans of this series are longing to know when the reveal will be between the two characters.
In the first season of the Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, the series was premiered between late 2015 and 2017. Season 2 shows what Adrien actually means to Marinette which is contrary to viewers’ expectations. In this episode, it seems that Adrien doesn’t like Marinette in a romantic way. In the first and second seasons, the two characters look to enjoy fine moments. Adrien feels comfortable being closer to Marinette just as a friend without romantic feelings. This is seen when they had a double date with Luka as he was much into skating with Kagami. He helped Marinette when she crushed on the wall which is an act of good friendship. He was being a gentleman.
In season 3 of The Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, we see that Marinette and Adrien become a couple for a short stint. Adrien, therefore, is seen to be head over her when the truth is revealed and Hawkmoth is nowhere to be seen.
Before the truth can be revealed as to whether Cat Noir knows who Ladybug is, there are up to 5 seasons. It is the kwami’s who found out the truth. Its original concept was conceived by Thomas Astruc in 2005. He had met a lady dressed in a ladybug shirt that is where the idea of Ladybug’s storyline came from. When he met Jeremy Zag, the development became quite diverse and Ladybug was changed quite significantly as a character.
In developing the series, the producer Astruc pointed out that Ladybug acted as a sign of good luck thus it was easier to partner her with a cat character (black in colour), which represents bad luck powers. In future episodes, it is expected that both Adrien and Marinette will be canonized. In the end, Luka will be disappointed. Towards the end of season 3, we see Luka claiming that Marinette is cute.
Adrien is in a better position to realize that Marinette is Ladybug than Marinette to realize that Cat Noir is really Adrien. This is because Adrien looks different whereas Marinette looks the same as Ladybug. Apart from this, there are other options that can lead to him revealing the identity. First, we can guess that Marinette tells him. The second option can be that Adrien finds his poem at Marinette’s place and relate the poem with Marinette. The last option can be if Marinette transforms herself in presence of Adrien. Alternatively, when the two are trapped in a cage and there is no one to help them out, Adrien might transform himself into Cat Noir and Marinette will find out that Adrien is actually Cat Noir. Marinette can also see Cat Noir with the bracelet she gave him in the Gamer episode and then realize that it is him.
