Following the success of DC’s Absolute Batman and the rabid anticipation for Absolute Wonder Woman, DC completes the Trinity of its Absolute Universe with the release of Absolute Superman #1, penned by award-winning writer Jason Aaron and featuring art by Rafa Sandoval. Today DC revealed final covers and interior art from the premier issue by series artist Sandoval, with colors by Ulises Arreola, ahead of its arrival at participating comic book shops and digital retailers Wednesday, November 6.
The events of DC All In Special #1 have created a new status quo for the DC Universe, where the core “All In” and Absolute universes coexist, united by a single prophecy, with the evil Darkseid at its center. While the Super Heroes of the Absolute Universe share similar origins with their counterparts, they don’t have the same resources, and face new challenges and adversaries on their heroic journeys. Aaron and Sandoval’s Superman is still the last son of Krypton, but it remains to be seen if he can be the same symbol of hope and optimism in this strange new world.
Absolute Superman #1 is available for preorder now and features a main cover by Rafa Sandoval and Ulises Arreola, with variant covers by Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair (also available as a black and white cardstock variant), Wes Craig, Matteo Scalera, and Clayton Crain, plus a foil variant cover featuring the Absolute version of Superman’s iconic S shield.
