Celeb photographer Michael Grecco flew into AFM 2024 for a meeting with Indie Rights, the global sales rep for his debut feature length documentary ‘Naked Ambition: An R-Rated Look at an X-Rated Industry’ and left with a handshake deal for his next franchise Michael Grecco’s #DaysOfPunk, in less than 24 hours. Michael Grecco’s #DaysOfPunk franchise is based on more than 163 images from celeb photographer Michael Grecco’s copywritten archives. Already a best-selling book, international touring museum experience, and exclusive collection of Limited Edition gallery prints; existing and future collectors are encouraged to contribute and participate in the upcoming audiobook and limited series across multimedia platforms under the banner #DaysOfPunk.
Grecco, whose practice is to “create new art out of iconic archives” will be narrating his own best- selling punk book alongside Grecco’s international celebrity pals for the multimedia audiobook and internationally dubbed iterations being produced by Melissa Balin of Brookturn Digital and Co-Producers Shepard Fairey, Jeff Griffith, Matthew Remick Colleran, Michael Madison, Jeremy
Troy, and Elizabeth Waterman, and is slated for distribution on all platforms in the Spring of 2025. “It’s not about the audiobook 2026 For Your Consideration season, even though our entire production
schedule and release dates for this iconic multimedia content do seem to be calendared around that,” Balin explains “It’s about the opportunities to bring the message of the punk spirit and explore these iconic images and treasure trove of creative IP across international communities including and especially for the hearing and vision impaired that may have never had such full access before let alone
in such dynamic and immersive ways.” Through an existing strategic partnership with Captionmax, the project is set to be translated, dubbed, subtitled and/or captioned into over 17 languages, including sign language and alt text for the vision impaired (which everyone seems to forget about) over the course of 2025. IndieRights Movies will handle the sales and deliverables of the multimedia content for the more than one-hundred territories that they already service.
