PORTAGE, IN, November 2, 2023 – On October 1st, 2023, Divinity Comics successfully launched the first issue of the stunning, comic-sized, collectible news magazine, Comics Illustrated. A second successful month is already underway, with limited physical copies half sold out on the first day. The magazine highlights new voices and projects from around the indie comics scene, providing educational insight and varying perspectives with a focus on everything indie comics. Also available in digital format, it is easily accessible and conveniently informative for its readers. You can purchase your copy at www.comicsillustrated.com. New releases drop on the 1st of every month.
Editor-in-Chief, Mike Wheeler, provides his vision for the magazine: “My vision is to take us back to a time when Wizard Magazine was in every pull-box as a quintessential tool for staying informed and knowledgeable about the current and future events of the comic industry; also to put the power of writing the news in the hands of creators who tell the stories, allow promotion based on merit, and success based on proof of concept.”
Regular columnists include Piper Steed, Hart D. Fisher, and Mike Wheeler. Regular contributors include indie comic artists Mindy Wheeler and R.B. White. Both October and November issues contain 64 pages each. Notable November features include “Pick Your Brain” Feat. Erik Larsen, Words of Wisdom by Pat Shand, Writing Tips by Adrian “Asia” Petty, and jaw-dropping cover art from featured artist Keith Curtis. Each featured artist has four dedicated interior pages to fill with art samples to promote their work, as well as their artwork on the cover.
In October, we heard from writers Mike Baron, Dirk Manning, and Dan Conner, presented in iconic Halloween cover art by featured artist, L C Freitas. October’s physical issues are all sold out, but the digital version can still be purchased on the website.

Going forward, a new section called “Brick and Mortar Corner” will feature a new comic shop every month.
