Comic Book Cats, number 76: Super Sons Annual #1

Comic Book Cats, number 76: Super Sons Annual #1, penciled by Paul Pelletier, inked by Cam Smith, written by Peter J. Tomasi, lettered by Carlos M. Mangual & Travis Lanham and colored by Hi-Fi, published by DC Comics in January 2018.

“Animal Planet” sees Krypto the Superdog and Titus the Bathound reform the Super-Pets to investigate a rash of dognappings in Gotham City. Among the former team members, Krypto and Titus contact is Streaky the Supercat. In the Rebirth continuity, Streaky is a female and Krypto’s ex-girlfriend, and as can be seen in this sequence their relationship ended under less-than-ideal circumstances. I guess Hell hath no fury like a kitty cat scorned, and all that. ????

Peter J. Tomasi wrote a fun, entertaining story for the return of the Super-Pets. Paul Pelletier is a really good, solid artist whose work I have always enjoyed. He did a great job penciling this issue, with his art carrying the story through many sequences without any human dialogue. I certainly like his depiction of Streaky.
