Comic Book Cats, number 48: Action Comics #266 cover penciled by Curt Swan and inked by Stan Kaye, published by DC Comics in July 1960.
Curt Swan was the primary artist on the various Superman titles from the mid 1950s to the mid 1980s. It’s inevitable that at some point or another during that lengthy period Swan would be called upon to draw Streaky the Supercat. Here is Swan’s cute rendition of Streaky zipping along through the sky, along with Superman, Supergirl and Krypto the Superdog.
The inks are by Stan Kaye, who had previously been the regular inker over Wayne Boring’s pencils on Superman for a decade and a half. Swan and Kaye were often paired up in the late 1950s and early 60s, drawing numerous covers for Action Comics, Adventure Comics, Superman and World’s Finest.
The identity of the colorist for this cover is probably lost to time, which is too bad, because whoever it was did a really nice job.
