Boston Metaphysical Society Comic Launches Crowdfunding

Campaign for New Story Set in Colorado

BURBANK, CA. Madeleine Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the graphic novel series Boston Metaphysical Society announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of issues one and two of her new four issue mini-series, Boston Metaphysical Society: Mystery at Pikes Peak. Both issues will be 32 pages with each story being 26 to 27 pages, respectively, plus bonus content. A new interior artist, Elisabeth Mkhiedze, is on board, and Angela Wu is creating the covers for all four issues. “Moving the characters out of Boston and out west has been a fun challenge for them and for me,” remarked Ms. Holly-Rosing. “This gives me a chance to put them outside of their comfort zone.”

For the first time, variant covers and variant metal covers will be offered with art by Rio Burton and Steph C. “I am so excited about having Rio and Steph doing the variant covers. They have done an outstanding job bringing their unique vision to Boston Metaphysical Society,” commented Ms. Holly-Rosing.

Ms. Holly-Rosing brings her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online nine years ago and went to print with a special twenty-four page edition a year later. The original series received an Honorable Mention at the 2013 Geekie Awards and was nominated for Best Comic/Graphic Novel in 2014. It was also consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2019, Source Point Press re-published the original six issue mini-series and the subsequent four sequels in 2020/21.

A veteran of crowdfunding, Ms. Holly-Rosing has successfully funded her entire graphic novel series on Kickstarter along with her first ever audio drama, The Ghost Ship. This new campaign will include a brand new Tesla Coil lapel pin, the CD of The Ghost Ship, and the variant covers in several reward tiers.
