San Antonio, TX – June 26, 2019. ANTARCTIC PRESS announces the launch of horror miniseries SCRATCHER, coming this fall.
Created by John Ward (Offbeats) and Juan Romera (Strange Nation, Rebirth of the Gangster), SCRATCHER is the story of Dee, a tortured tattoo artist who tries to save her clients when they become possessed by the tattoos she gave them.
The dynamic, sinister artwork from Juan Romera, and beautifully rendered lettering from Eric Grissom (Deadhorse, Gregory Suicide), work together with John Ward’s subtly disturbing script to create a unique story that walks the delicate tightrope between psychological terror and gore-soaked mayhem.
“I think what makes SCRATCHER unusual is how we try to blend the supernatural horror with the horrors of everyday life,” said John Ward. “Our protagonist is a talented artist who’s adrift. She’s given up on her dreams and struggles to find meaning in life. When her clients becomes possessed she’s forced to confront all her deep-seated fears as she tries to save them, and in the process may find a way to save herself.“
