COMMENTS: “THE KING OF DREAMS” This is a love letter to the 70s Sandman. The Sandman must keep the monsters on the dreams of Jacob Kurtzberg from becoming real, but Jacob also dreams of a hero to fight at Sandman’s side. Of course in the real world we know Jacob Kurtzberg by his pen name Jack Kirby.
“THE SANDMAN OF CARAVAN CRISIS” Jeb Walker needs his missing dreams and the Sandman must battle Psyco-Pomp in an old western horor advanture to reunite Grandson and Grandfather.
After this was have a series of reprint from Jimmy Olsen. No idea why they are in the Sandman special. I would have like to see the first story from the Sandman comic reprinted here instead. In fact that is was was promised from the solicitations but with a bait and switch, they gave us an introduction the the News Boy Legion followed by reprints of Tales of the D.N.A. Project. it didn’t fit the rest of the comic and I miss not getting a seldom-seen Sandman story from the 1970s!
