SUMMARY: Unwanted Help
Mel and her friends gather to hold a wake for her career as a costumed crime-fighter. The next day, sporting an epic hangover, Mel dives right into Jessie’s personal life in a misguided attempt to bond with her new partner.
COMMENTS: As always we get to see a little more of Mel and not enough to get a full picture of who she is. Jessie is also beginning to question if Mel is one of the good guys. We get to see a little more of what Jessie’s family drama is all about. The strength of this comic is the panel work and facial expressions. It’s a very decompressed story about training a superhero. So far the trainer is flawed, and the student is coming around slowly. However, I get the feeling we are missing a large part of the puzzle that will become a big revelation as the story goes on.
