SUMMARY: An alien attack leaves the heart of downtown Toronto in ruins, and our hero with very little of his regenerative powers! A very shaken Human-Lizard must travel home safely via streetcar against hostile passengers that want to take advantage of his vulnerable state. Luckily for the Human-Lizard, Mother Wonder’s husband Sam is there to protect him!
COMMENTS: Human-Lizard is badly beaten after fighting aliens with Captain Canuck and now he has to get home. How would you get home in real life? Catch a streetcar? That is just what The Human-Lizard does. As it turns out the streetcar driver is Mother Wonder’s husband. AND THAT IS HOW YOU DO A SHARED UNIVERSE! It’s not a superhero team (which you can see in Captain Canuck) it’s that all the characters live in the same world and you just bump into them in everyday life. Then the Human-Lizard’s mother call because she is worried about him after seeing his battle with the aliens is shown on TV. In this issue, the Human-Lizard rides a streetcar home from the battle, and sleeps through most of the ride. Some people love him some people hate him. In this case it is shown more realistically than Spider-man or the X-Men. It doesn’t sound exciting but it was truly pitiful and that is the entire point of the comic; this isn’t the Amazing Human-Lizard, this is the Pitiful Human-Lizard and the story is wonderful in its mundaneness.
