Trust us, you do not want to miss the final issue of our first season! Pulse-pounding action, wit, intrigue and globe-trotting romance – One of Canada’s original heroes is reborn for the Chapterhouse era by writers Andrew Wheeler (Another Castle) and Jim Zub (Thunderbolts), and artist Vaneda Vireak (51Hundred)!
COMMENTS: Lance finally admits he loves John but before diving head first into the rift. One of the interesting things in this story is that we are told John is a killer but in the Chapterverse killing even for a good cause isn’t tolerated. Lance won’t tolerate it and over in Captain Canuck Tom Evans won’t tolerate it. No anti-heroes in the Chapterverse, here an anti-hero is still called a villain.
I was really looking forward to the terrible secrets of Lance Valiant’s origin. It wasn’t as terrible as I had hoped. We do get resolution to a lot of the subplots that have been running through the series. The is resolution to the will they, won’t they relationship between Lance and John. There is resolution to the Apollyon plot. There is semi-resolution between Tasha and her mother, Whisper. The Rift and the Breach Key are resolved and we are left with a question about the Noah and his real plans for the second season. So all in all this chapter ties everything up making a satisfying conclusion to the first season of Freelance.
