Just when they thought their Free Comic Book Day couldn’t get any worse Kitty’s ex-husband, Derek the Warlock arrives in search of answers!
COMMENTS: As far as I can tell the point of Die Kitty Die is to show that classic Archie style is better than Archie New Riverdale. To prove this point two classic Archie Super Star creators show their version of Lil’ Archie kids in “Lil’ Kitty”. The second chapter takes place after Kitty’s death and takes a lot of digs at the actual Archie publishing team, if you are on the “inside” there are a lot of inside jokes, but if your a fan you just have to assume Parent and Ruiz don’t have much respect for their former employers. This is followed by a current story that pays off the Lil’ Kitty story. It’s a good story and shows how much fun comics can be if they don’t take themselves too seriously. As a zero issue, this is exactly what it should be. We get a good recap of the prior mini-series and a set up for the next. We also get a good feeling for who the characters are before Heaven & Hell begins.
