SUMMARY: The Chapterverse continues! Captain Canuck returns with a brand new first issue! Tom Evans has walked away from Equilibrium, his brother Michael, and the mantle of Captain Canuck, choosing to return instead to a simple life on the reservation near Flin Flon where he grew up. What a terrible time for an extraterrestrial incursion!
COMMENTS: It has been a long wait for Captain Canuck’s return. During that time Chapterhouse built a Chapterverse. Fitting all of their heroes in a shared universe. The pieces of the Chapterverse start to come together in this issue as we see the Agents of P.A.C.T. and Northguard fit into the story, while we are still waiting for Freelance and the Pitiful Human-Lizard to join the story. This is a great start to the Chapterverse world building. If you are following all the titles it is extremly nice to see it all payoff.

This issue we get a lot of Tom Evans, who he is, how he sees the world and what he has been doing for the last year since giving up the role of Captain Canuck. Apparently nothing can pull him our of retirment, including an alien invasion of Toronto. While we get to see Tom as a true hero in his civilian life we don’t get to see Captain Canuck actally return. I would like to be upset that after waiting a long time for Captain Canuck to return and now we still have to wait longer, but the back story is so good it’s worth the wait.

This is a fun issue with lots of background that fits the Chapterverse together nicely. I am still looking forward to seeing Captain Canuck in action soon, maybe next issue!
