COMMENTS: “The Junk” for mature readers. If you have been around comics at all you know who Rob Liefeld is and have certain expectations about a Rob Liefeld story. If you are a little older or spend at the quarter bins you have certain expectations of what the Extreme Universe is like. To me Rob’s work is always a high octane story that hits all the high notes of an action movie. Sometimes drama is condensed in favor of action. This comic was total unexpected and surprising. I was expecting X-Force and I got Dick! Literally, this comic is about dick and a lot of blood and violence. This is all the action you expect and crave if you are an Extreme fan mixed with more blood and guts than anyone would be looking for in a super hero comic. Then there is the sex.
Cabot is back and he is everything Cable should be, a rough and violent soldier. Bloodwulf returns and he has always been Lobo light, now he is a stone cold killer. In a very short appearance he manages to up the level of sex and violence. This comic surprised me, it was not at all what I was expecting. Rob has really upped his game since leaving DC. This is an unexpectedly different take on a super hero team. If you ever wanted to see the mature reader version of X-Force on steroids.
