At this year’s Film Threat’s AWARD THIS! ceremony, the movie “Hell’s Coming For You” took home the prestigious award for 2024 “Best Indie Horror Film”
The event, which celebrates the best in independent cinema, was held live in Santa Ana, California at The Frida Cinema. Tim Chizmar and Mark Savage, key figures behind the film, were present to accept the award.
Chizmar, who served as a producer, costar, and co-writer, and Savage, who directed and co-wrote the film, expressed their gratitude and excitement for the recognition.
“Hell’s Coming For You” is a gritty action-thriller that follows the story of Liam Hell, a retired assassin played by Dillion Dilligaf. The film stands out for its unique premise, featuring a disabled action hero portrayed by a real disabled actor, making it a groundbreaking entry in the genre. The AWARD THIS! event, now in its 6th year, has become a significant platform for honoring truly independent filmmakers.
It showcases a diverse range of categories, with nominees selected from over 2,000 indie films reviewed by Film Threat in the past year. This win for “Hell’s Coming For You” not only highlights the film’s quality but also underscores the growing recognition of inclusive storytelling in independent cinema.
