Arledge Comics Embraces the Undeniably Cute Chaos of Cream Maid

Arledge Comics today launched a Kickstarter for the trade paperback of Cream Maid, illustrated by Rebecca Burgess and written by Mark Dickson.

Cream Maid is an all-ages, comedic, slice-of-life adventure that follows its main character through absurd situations, trying to find their place in the world, smashing tables, dressing up in ridiculous costumes, and unwittingly stitching the world back together.

Cream Maid explores topics such as anxiety, gender expression, and family through gag-a-day storytelling following the endearing titicular character: Cream Maid.

Cream Maid presents without a gender, wearing whatever takes their fancy in that particular moment without thinking for a second about what someone might say. Mark created a world where someone can try on all of these guises, personalities and gender combinations and not only to not be judged for it, but for that to be celebrated.

“Cream Maid is 30% cat, 20% human, only 10% maid, and 100% chaotic.” Speaking of characters from the series, creator Mark Dickson says: “Honey is a reclusive, socially uncomfortable bundle of nerves that has lived for too long just getting by. Being unable to confront the actual problems in her life, she deflects, again and again, hoping that the next project will be the one to finally do the trick.”

The Kickstarter campaign will run until December 31, 2020.
