AOC Superhero Comic Hits Shelves On May 15 With Limited Edition Covers

(WASHINGTON, DC — May 7, 2019) Weeks after making international headlines for announcing its plans to create an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez superhero comic, Devil’s Due Comics has a confirmed release date. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez And The Freshman Force: New Party, Who Dis? will hit online and physical retail outlets on Wednesday, May 15. And to mark the occasion, the Chicago-based comic book publisher has teamed up with a number of comic shops to provide 12 different collectable covers, available as limited-edition purchases at each retailer’s location or website.

“The excitement behind Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has proven to be so great that comic book shops across the country not only wanted to support AOC And The Freshman Force, but to design exclusive editions limited to their stores,” explains Devil’s Due Publisher Josh Blaylock. “We hope everyone from comic collectors to fans of AOC and Washington politics will get a kick out of them.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently responded to the comic’s upcoming release, telling TMZ, “It’s an honor people would put so much of their time and talent into that all on their own.” The Congresswoman added, “I’m especially honored that they’re donating proceeds to Raices Texas [a non-profit that provides legal services to immigrants and refugees] for immigration protections. So that part of the project, if it can benefit communities that need it, that’s really amazing.”
