[Los Angeles, CA] – The weirdest public domain character comes back to life on Zoop!
Now live on Zoop is a campaign to fund Stardust: The Super Wizard, an anthology featuring the world’s weirdest public domain character, Stardust. This is a hardcover of new material from an all-star creator lineup. Spearheaded by writer and Stardust enthusiast Van Jensen, creators enlisted include Mike Allred, who supplies the cover artwork and interior story, Francesco Francavilla, Pete Woods, Ron Marz, Zander Cannon and dozens of others! The book also includes the debut short story from Ian Hanks, the grandson of Stardust creator, Fletcher Hanks.
This project has been a labor of love from creators who genuinely have a soft spot in their heart for Stardust. Originally debuting in 1939, Stardust appeared in just 16 issues, which were later re-printed by Fantgraphics. But, that was not enough for Jensen, who took it upon himself to rally the troops, and put more Stardust out into the world!
Jensen states “this is an opportunity for some of comics finest to get really, really, really freaking weird. I just hope that people will have even half as much fun reading it as we are making it!”
Zoop CEO, Jordan Plosky shares: “We’re so happy to be working with Van, and this all-star roster of creators he’s assembled to bring something old back to life in a new way. We really think comics fans will love this book, and quite frankly, they’re just not ready for what’s in store!”
Zoop is the new home for creator-owned crowdfunding. For publishers and creators, Zoop is an all-in-one pre-order, production, fulfillment, and marketing solution that connects them directly to their fans.
