Alien Books Announces New Hires & Promotions for Valiant Comics Publishing Line

Alien Books hires Ron Cacace as Director of Communications and promotes Lysa Hawkins to Editor-in-Chief

Alien Books, the NY-based comics publisher, is strengthening its current team with a key new hire and promotion as its publishing partnership with Valiant Entertainment continues into its second year.

Ron Cacace joins the team at Alien Books as Director of Communications and brings with him over 15 years of experience in the comic industry including stints at Marvel Entertainment, Archie Comics and Zestworld. Cacace is best known for establishing the bombastic Archie Comics’ social media brand voice, overseeing the company’s publicity efforts, and writing the Bite Sized Archie webcomic series. Cacace will direct the overall strategy for Alien Book’s communications, manage press relations, and engage with the Valiant comics fanbase on social media and at conventions and ensure that everyone is kept informed about new releases and events.

Lysa Hawkins is a decorated comic editor whose credits include working on perennial best-selling titles at Marvel and DC Comics including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, X-Men and more. Lysa has spent several years working on the Valiant Universe and as the new Editor-in-Chief at Alien Books she’ll continue to utilize her expert storytelling sensibilities and eye for talent to deliver exciting new comics for readers around the world to enjoy every month in comic book shops. Lysa is currently working on the upcoming RESURGENCE OF THE VALIANT UNIVERSE crossover event releasing this Fall.
