Boston Metaphysical Society Comic Launches Crowdfunding  Campaign for Special Edition Hardback of Volume 2

BURBANK, CA. Madeleine Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the graphic novel series Boston Metaphysical Society announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of the first ever hardback edition of volume two of the steampunk supernatural series. With extras like pin up art and an exclusive ten page bonus story with art by Claudia Balboni, the volume will come in at 174 pages. “Fans were so thrilled at how beautiful the volume one hardback came out, they wanted volume two,” commented Ms. Holly-Rosing. “What else could I do but bow to their wishes.”

This special limited edition will feature a cover by Claudia Ianniciello (Critical Role, Dr. Who, White Ash Comics) on both the hardcover and softcover versions. “Claudia did an outstanding job capturing the essence of the characters. There’s no doubt they are a team,” remarked Ms. Holly-Rosing. “I hope we do well enough to add a bookmark ribbon and foil stamping to further highlight the book.”

Ms. Holly-Rosing brings her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online ten years ago and went to print with a special twenty-four page edition a year later. The original series received an Honorable Mention at the 2013 Geekie Awards and was nominated for Best Comic/Graphic Novel in 2014. It was also consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2019, Source Point Press re-published the original six issue mini-series and the subsequent four sequels in 2020/21.

A veteran of crowdfunding, Ms. Holly-Rosing has successfully funded her entire graphic novel series on Kickstarter along with her first ever audio drama, The Ghost Ship. This new campaign will include an art deco style copper-finish metal bookmark and new pin up art.

The campaign will end Oct. 31 and has a funding goal of $10,000. For more information, please visit the Kickstarter Homepage or http://www.bostonmetaphysicalsociety.com
