SNEAK PEEK OF NEW HORROR COMIC THE FEEDING—BY HIT CANTO CREATORS DAVID M. BOOHER AND DREW ZUCKER—TEASES A TWISTED MYSTERY

Part of Syzygy Publishing’s lineup of titles, the one-shot by Booher and Zucker sets up a surreal journey into one man’s disturbed psyche, with the comic hitting shelves this October
PORTLAND, Ore. 09/30/2024 —Eisner and GLAAD Award-nominated writer David M. Booher (Rain) and fan-favorite artist Drew Zucker (The House), the team behind hit fantasy comic book series Canto, are teaming up again for the new horror one-shot comic book The Feeding from Syzygy Publishing and Image Comics. Debuting this October, the oversized comic is a throwback to self-contained horror and sci-fi stories in the vein of Tales from the Crypt, Creepshow, and The Twilight Zone.

In The Feeding, Nolan Ward has done everything to forget his disturbing past. Drinking. Drugs. Day-Trading. Sex. And still, that past has caught up with him in the form of a twisted painting called The Feeding…that eats people. And it’s hungry. Can Nolan stop this demon or will he be devoured like so many others before him? Readers will go on a surreal journey into one man’s bloody psyche…to a place and time when art is dangerous and no one is safe. Booher and Zucker are joined by Vittorio Astone on colors and Andworld Design on letters to bring this terrifying tale to life.

“I’m thrilled to celebrate spooky season with The Feeding,” said Booher. “I grew up on horror stories, so it’s a treat to work with my buddy Drew Zucker to create this creepy love letter to series like Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow. Huge thanks to comics champion Chris Ryall with Syzygy Publishing and Image Comics for helping us bring this labor of love to a wide audience. Halloween is just around the corner, and readers are in for a bloody treat!”

“It’s so exciting to be revisiting horror as a genre and to be doing it with this team,” said Zucker. “We’ve spent a lot of years now honing our skills and to have the chance to tell scary stories with this group really feels like being a kid telling ghost stories around the campfire. I can’t wait for everyone to get scared with us.”

The Feeding will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, October 23 (FOC is today):

  • Cover A by Drew Zucker & Vittorio Astone – Lunar Code 0824IM319
  • Cover B (1:20 B&W Virgin) by Drew Zucker – Lunar Code 0824IM320

The Feeding will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

Select praise for The Feeding:
“Chilling, nightmarish, and beautifully presented, The Feeding is exactly what you want from a horror one-shot. In keeping with the title, I devoured it.”—Rio Youers (Writer, Sleeping Beauties, Refrigerator Full Of Heads)

The Feeding is a tautly plotted spine-chiller that kept me up all night. I quit coffee for nothing! A cautionary tale warning us to never support the visual arts.”—Patrick Schumacker (Executive Producer, Harley Quinn: The Animated Series)

The Feeding is a painterly nightmare that put me in the same head space as watching a classic Twilight Zoneepisode. It will fill you up.”—Ron Marz (Writer, Witchblade)

The Feeding sucks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go through the whole story. A tale of survival that spirals inward with a disturbing mystery. As a horror hound and a fan of Booher’s work, I fully enjoyed it! Recommended!”—Julia Marchese (Writer, Director, and Podcaster, Horror Movie Survival Guide, I Know What You Need)
