In this review, I’ll cover the first issue of the third volume of “Creepshow”. It’s even creepier than before, featuring two all-new stories from your favorite creators in every issue! First, writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Kagan McLeod bring you the terrifying tale of a repressed housewife taking matters into her own hands to rescue her daughter from a local psychedelic cult, leading to bizarre and deadly results. Then, James Stokoe introduces a chilling mystery of a severed human hand and the lengths one writer will go to discover the truth.

The two stories presented in this issue have a unique feel that opts for a weird approach to their storytelling that slightly strays away from the horror but manages to keep the Creepshow spirit alive and well, which makes for an exciting entry to this series. Some fans may be in shock due to the stories not being so dark and bloody, but the different approach that Zdarsky and Stokoe have taken pays off to where the weirdness within these stories may have a looming premise. However, they still have what it takes to keep true horror fans scared to where they may have to keep a light on when they sleep, and with that, the appeal of Creepshow continues to strive in comic book form that only gets better with each volume.

Well, that’s it for me this week. Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
