Comments: “Mukbang” Two people are competing on social media to one-up the other. Lonnie and Jenna are both going all out. Jenna though goes to levels you will not believe. It is all about eating and who will be the most extreme. The competition does get way out of hand. Finally, though it comes to an end.
The art is cute which is kind of the opposite of the dark story.
“I Can’t Take You Anywhere” These are short one-panel cartoons with a dark twist. They are fun and cute. Nice simple old-style art to them.
In “Something Is Killing The Children: A Monster Hunter Walks Into A Bar, Part Two” A witness recounts what he saw as a young girl was attacked. The young woman he tells this tale to listens and wants to hear more from others. The art delivers this woman with one big green eye showing as being strange. Something about her says she can be trusted.
“Kampfgeist” A war is raging on and people are dying. While beneath them something waits and enjoys the fighting.
“The War, Part Three” People are talking about a war yet there are no signs of one and then there is. Here you get a good look at how people behave during a possible time of crisis. The art illustrates everyone wonderfully as they all act realistically in the given situation.
This is a wonderfully dark collection of stories.
