This week I will look at “Biker Mice From Mars # 1” from One Press, which is part of the shared NacelleVerse. Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie are three motorcycle-riding mice who called Mars home. Still, when the ruthless Plutarkians stage an invasion to strip their planet of its precious resources, their antiauthoritarian streak will turn into a full-blown insurgency. The Biker Mice from Mars are the only ones that can prevent the mass destruction of Earth. The opening issue blends action with the right amount of nostalgia factor that fans of the 90s cartoon will enjoy. Still, you will be pleasantly surprised by the more heart-filled elements that help in making this series more different than the cartoon (The scene with Throttle and his mother will really get to you). I must point out that Melissa Flores’ writing does a good job of bringing some edginess to these beloved characters instead of keeping them docile in a PG-rated element that would not help in making a series such as this one relatable to a more modern audience.

A fun and action-packed romp that will bring in new fans while making sure that the old ones rejoice, The Biker Mice From Mars gets the comeback they truly deserve thanks in part to a solid creative team and the results are simply flawless.

Well, that’s it for me. Thanks for sticking around, I will see you all next time.
