Comments: A group of people are in ahouse at night and they are ameteurs performing a magical ritual. The gathering turns bad when a mask is discovered.
Now years later the mask shows up. Oscar gets taken over by the evil inside the mask.
Angel is shown as a tough girl. Her and her friend Lila go to a club with dancing, drinking, smoking and drugs. The mask shows up again.
The movie does move along slowly dragging out the scenes. People in the town start being killed.
Angel does have trouble dealing with the death of her friend. She turns to something she should not to help deal with it.
This movie was made a low budget. The actors do have some talent but no award winning performances here.
Angel and her friends take a while but they do kind of figure things out eventually. We finally do get into Angel’s character.
There are gay characters in this film yet it is never strongly pointed out. Finally near the end it is pointed out the killer targets queers. You are kept in the dark way to long in this movie.
With the camera shots there are so many close ups and hardly any panning shots or more distance ones.
Angel, a cop and two friend’s end up in the house where it all began. Angel and her friends are all gay. This is hinted at throughout the movie but until the very end it is not confirmed.
Angel choking the killer looks so fake. The ending to this is anti-climatic. Yes you do get your fight with the hero and villain just the build up is not there. There no suspense at all.
For this horror movie do not expect to be scared, or frightened in any way. Angel is the best part and how naturally beautiful she is yet even that aspect is but used.
The mask does try to be a horror movie and maybe delivery a message about queers it just does not succeed.
