This week, I’ll take a look at Avenging Spider-Man # 7 which features a very quirky team-up between Spider-Man and She-Hulk that involves cats……..Yeah, that’s right- Cats!!

So the issue starts off with She-Hulk arriving at a local museum but where she notices a necklace on a cat statue (It’s a replica of the Egyptian goddess Bastet); Soon after, She-Hulk sees a group of cloaked women who are trying to steal the cat statue but the eyes turn green and speak to Jen but is soon in for a huge shock when she grows a tail (An actual tail, no fooling!); For some reason, this issue really takes the supernatural element to new heights in a team-up story that features a horde of cats that come together and form Bastet the cat goddess who expects She-Hulk to serve her and protect the world.

Kathyrn Immonen’s script feels like an Ivan Reitman movie when it comes to taking an issue like this and blending the action with some light-hearted levity that will amaze the readers all while not relying so heavily on over-the-top antics or going all out with the fisticuffs so this is very welcoming and giving us nostalgia for those 80s movies. Stuart Immonen’s artwork is still unblemished but I also like how his art here doesn’t revert back to the style he used on “Nextwave” but gives us an updated version of his classic style from “Adventures of Superman” days that is an absolute joy. Spider-Man and She-Hulk have had some great team-ups in the past, this one, in particular, is amusing especially when it comes to putting She-Hulk in a not-so-flattering position (I’m sure the cat tail on Jen probably had some readers freaking out) and it ends on a perfect note (**NO SPOILERS**); This issue may not be to everyone’s liking, but it makes for a great read, and with that said, it’s okay.

Well, That’s It for me this week. Next week I think I’ll look at a Daredevil story since The Man Without Fear will be making his official MCU debut on “She-Hulk”; Thanks for sticking around and I will see you all next time.
