Celebrate Captain Picard’s Newest Star Trek With Your Very Own Photon Torpedo from ‘Generations’

Life-sized film prop from the first – and last – meeting between Jean-Luc Picard and James T. Kirk

DALLAS, Texas (April 1, 2020) – In the words of Mr. Chekov, “Photon torpedo away!”

Specifically, a Mark V photon torpedo movie prop from 1994’s Star Trek Generations, the first big-screen appearance of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast and the only time U.S.S. Enterprise captains James Tiberius Kirk and Jean-Luc Picard shared an on-screen adventure. This iconic piece of Trekkie weaponry is one of the many highlights to be found in the Entertainment & Music Memorabilia Auction, April 4-5 in Dallas, Texas, and on HA.com.

“It’s not every day any of us come across screen-used props from a Star Trek film, let alone one of the series’ most iconic weapons,” said Jon Steffens, a Valuation Specialist & Consignment Director in the Entertainment Department at Heritage Auctions. “This life-sized photon torpedo measures six feet long and would surely be one of the more impressive pieces in the collection of any Trek aficionado.”

And the timing couldn’t be better.

CBS All Access is now streaming the entire season of Star Trek: Picard, the thrilling and critically acclaimed return of Patrick Stewart to the center seat. No spoilers, as the season finale airs this week, but a second season has been confirmed.

And now you will be able watch it with your very own photon torpedo – this one, seen in Generations aboard the Amargosa Observatory. It was part of the arsenal amassed by Malcolm McDowell’s Dr. Tolian Soran in his attempt to destroy a star and return to the Nexus, where anyone can live any life of which they dream for all eternity.

Soran, incidentally, might be the most hated villain in Star Trek history: He is, after all, the man who killed Captain Kirk.

A bank of Mark V torpedoes can be seen in an iconic Generations scene aboard the observatory during which Data’s emotion chip malfunctions – a direct link to the story now being told in Star Trek: Picard.
